What happens to what you type, in plain terms.

The short version

23 of Toolsel’s 23 tools run entirely inside your browser. When a tool page shows the Runs in your browser badge, the text, file or token you enter is processed by JavaScript on your own device and is never transmitted to us. We could not read it if we wanted to, and we could not hand it over if asked.

Tools that use a server

Right now, none. Every tool on the site processes your input locally. When that changes — link shortening has to store a mapping somewhere, and AI features need a model we cannot ship to your browser — the tools involved will not carry the badge, and their pages will say plainly what is sent and what is kept.

What we collect

No analytics or tracking scripts are running on this site at present. If that changes, we will measure aggregate product usage — which tools get used, which searches return nothing — so we know what to build next. That is counting, not profiling: we do not sell usage data and we do not build advertising profiles from it.

Like almost any website, the server that delivers these pages keeps standard request logs (IP address, timestamp, page requested, user agent) for a short period for security and debugging. These are not linked to anything you enter into a tool.

Data stored in your browser

A few conveniences are kept in your browser’s local storage and never sent anywhere: your light/dark theme preference, your recently viewed tools, and your recent searches. Clearing your browser’s site data removes all of it, and you can clear recent searches directly from the search dialog.

Cookies

The site sets no tracking cookies. The preferences above use local storage rather than cookies, which means they are never attached to network requests.

Accounts

No account is required, and none can be created today. If accounts arrive later — for saving links or favourites — this page will be updated before that ships to describe exactly what is stored.

Children

This site is a general-purpose set of utilities and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, at any age.

Your data rights

Because browser-side tools never transmit your input, there is generally nothing for us to access, export or delete — the data never left your device. If you believe we hold something about you and want it removed, get in touch and we will deal with it.
